The 14th edition of the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team's 6-hours race in Nuremberg took place under much better weather conditions than forecasted. The 1.521.9 km long loop around the "Wöhrder Wiesen" was populated by 148 runers from a variety of nations.
The winner was John Pares, from Britain but living in Switzerland, who came really close to the magical 80 km mark with his 79.951 kms. Stefan Daum scored a new PR with 79.152 kms, obviously and deliberately satisfied. Rainer Leyendecker made the 3rd podium's spot with 77.114 kms, also winning the age category of 50-59 years.
The winner in the women's competition is from Munich. In her 3rd 6-hours, Simone Hengmith ran a new PR, too, with 61.249 kms. For the remaining 2 podium spots, you had to run more than 60 kms. Evelyn Schmedemann did that with 60.555, Annette Reim with 60.366 kms.
This race was the 2nd of this year's DUV 6-hours Cup series, and as soon as our statistics department has uploaded the results, you will be able to view directly the interim standings after two races.
The results of Nuremberg can be viewed here.
